Scraptastic

a

I decimated the darning pile last weekend, which was so intensely satisfying, it felt wrong. I spent all day Sunday stitching and playing with scraps. First up was this small dress we bought in France last year, which was stained down the front after an accidental trip to nursery school. I covered sad stains with bright yoyos and buttons. She’s a happy dress now.

Then I attached a leftover yoyo to a hairband, made a funny little charm bracelet for me (inspired by something similar spied at Incu), and a necklace for Olive. I’m clearly having a Liberty moment.

Great to hear this popular Perth store has opened new digs in Sydney. I haven’t been in yet, but planning to scoot on over and pick up some Liberty print asap – they appear to stock a vast amount, along with wonderful Milla Mia patterns (featured here earlier).

Speaking of Liberty…

I mentioned finding the sweetest Liberty print skirt at a flea market earlier in the week, which prompted me to trawl the website for these lust-worthy items. I’m off to the UK later in the year, where I’ll be making a pitstop at my favourite London department store.

Top of the shopping list? Reams of fabric, of course. But this suitcase – a collaboration with Paris’ new concept store, Merci – will be hard to resist.
