Easter egg cosies
Last weekend we headed off to visit some friends who live in a dreamy little town on the NSW south coast. I made these Easter egg cosies for the kids – Lucca, Helena & Gianni – popping them atop three chocolate eggs and simple ceramic egg cups.

60s beaded top and silk sari
But not before an early morning dash to the markets – see this gorgeous beaded top and bright pink silk sari? Both are becoming harder to find these days so I was thrilled to snap them up for a song. The sari I’ve earmarked for some fancy dress fun, and the beaded top perches on a picture rail while I’m deciding what to do with it.

I bought a very similar 1950s beaded top while I was in South Africa last year, and as per your plan, it has been hanging from the picture rail of my dressing room for the past twelve months. It is stunning, but I haven’t been able to work it into an outfit yet: something about the boxy cut makes it surprisingly difficult to wear!
Here it is, in all its sparkly glory: http://exilednzer.blogspot.com/2009/05/photo-11-may.html
Love your craft and sense of style. Lovely home too!
I am working on egg cosies for my small sibling for Easter, based on your pattern in AWW. Have added bunny ears and a face to mine though, and so far so good, although with 4 of them it is taking a while for this novice sewer!
